Lucky Seat
bistro chair for Maison Louis Drucker
In collaboration with the iconic French rattan house Maison Louis Drucker, Dutch designer Annebet Philips created the Lucky Seat: a bistro chair with strong character and an optimistic twist. Its standout feature—a backrest shaped like a four-leaf clover—gives this timeless Parisian terrace chair a playful and instantly recognisable silhouette.
The Lucky Seat is an unexpected fusion of heritage craftsmanship and contemporary design. Maison Drucker, renowned since 1885 for their handwoven rattan chairs, found a natural creative match in Philips, whose work is known for bold forms and expressive use of color. Together, they merged their love for material, shape, and tradition into a striking, handcrafted piece with a modern silhouette.
The name Lucky Seat refers not only to the four-leaf clover, a universal symbol of luck and hope, but also to the idea of the “lucky seat” in a lottery or arena—the winning place. A subtle nod to how much our fate can depend on where we happen to sit in the world. In a time when many of us crave optimism and connection, the Lucky Seat offers both—wrapped in joyful design.
Fully customizable in a wide range of colors and weaving patterns, the Lucky Seat is made with a durable aluminium frame, suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. It is also stackable for added convenience.
